St. Augustine Tower - History details

St. Augustine Tower, part of a vast church complex built between 1597 and 1602, stands atop Monte Santo in Old Goa. Once among the region’s grandest Augustinian structures, it declined after 1835 and collapsed partly by 1842. Its lone 46‑meter tower remains a landmark. Visitors arrive yearly for heritage events and feast‑day walks.
