Beneath Fort Aguada in the Aguada Fort Area is a dramatic rock-strewn shoreline often called Aguada Rocky Beach; unlike sandy Sinquerim, swimming/water-sports are discouraged here due to rocks. It offers superb viewpoints between the fort and lighthouse; sunsets are prized, and the 17th-century fort (1612) and lighthouse loom above.
