East of Giridih on the Tundi road, the Usri River plunges about 12 m in three streams through a gneissic gorge—an oft‑cited textbook exposure of banded rocks. The picnic ground sits at ~288 m on the Chotanagpur plateau fringe. Tourism facilities grew post‑1970s alongside nearby Khandoli and Parasnath circuits; New Year picnics and winter Sundays are busiest.
