Maa Dewri Mandir - History details

Ancient Solah Bhuji (16-armed) Durga shrine at Diuri village, Tamar, about 60 km from Ranchi. Tradition links it to Munda king Kera around 1300 CE; the original sanctum was built with interlocking stone blocks without mortar and later renovated. Uniquely, tribal Pahan priests conduct worship alongside Brahmin priests. Set near the Ranchi–Tata road, the temple complex spans ~2 acres and draws devotees year-round.
