Documented by travel guides in 2008, Usri Falls lies 13 km east of Giridih on the Tundi road, where the Usri River—a tributary of the Barakar—drops 12 m in three streams through banded gneiss. Set on the northern fringe of the Chota Nagpur plateau, dense sal forest encloses the gorge. Tourism initiatives in the late 20th century linked it with Khandoli and Parasnath circuits; winter picnics and New Year mornings are peak.
