Talaja Caves Temple - History details

The Talaja Caves in Bhavnagar date to 2nd century BCE with Buddhist rock‑cut architecture, later receiving Jain carvings in 2nd–3rd century CE. Set on conical hills above the Shatrunjaya River, they feature Ebhal Mandapa with octagonal pillars. Talaja is also associated with poet Narsinh Mehta (15th century). Special dates include annual pilgrim season in winter.
