Built in 1971 across the Subarnarekha, Getalsud/Rukka Dam in Ormanjhi, Ranchi is a key drinking‑water source with a 717 km² catchment. The lakeside meadows draw winter picnics; sunset views are excellent. Hydropower units operate seasonally while prioritising municipal supply. Often clubbed with Jonha, Sita and Hundru falls drives.
