Dharoi Dam - History details

Completed in 1978 on the Sabarmati River, Dharoi Dam spans Mehsana–Sabarkantha region and its foundation stone was laid by Indira Gandhi in 1971. Designed for irrigation, flood control and water supply, the dam area now forms a scenic reservoir attracting birds and tourists. Its canals reshaped agriculture across North Gujarat and the site is planned as a tourism hub.
