Raja Fort - History details
Raja Fort, also known as Gingee Fort, is a historic stronghold built by the Cholas and later fortified by the Vijayanagara Empire. Known as the ‘Troy of the East,’ it features citadels, granaries, and temples spread across rocky hills. The fort played a strategic role in Maratha and Carnatic wars.
