Aralam Wildlife Sanctuary - History details

Established in 1984, Aralam in Kannur is Kerala’s northernmost wildlife sanctuary, spanning 55 sq km on the Western Ghats’ slopes. Home to elephants, deer, tigers and 150+ bird species, it also hosts the Meenmutty trail and Ambalappara trek. Annual nature camps promote conservation. The sanctuary receives heavy monsoon rainfall, enriching its evergreen forests.
