The Wagheshwar Temple in Pune is a historic Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. The name is derived from "Wagh," meaning tiger, and "Ishwar," meaning God, creating the name "Tiger God". There are two well-known Wagheshwar Temples associated with Pune: one in the Wagholi area and a second, much older one that gets submerged in the Pawna Lake.
