Vishwaguru Basaveshwara Statue, Gadag - History details

A towering ~116–117 ft standing statue of Basaveshwara (Basavanna) beside Bhishma Lake at Gadag‑Betageri, inaugurated in 2015. The lakeside park has boating, and a circular museum at the base narrates the 12th‑century reformer’s life, vachana movement and Anubhava Mantapa. Evenings bring crowds for views over the water; the site functions as a civic landmark and memorial.
