Mysuru Palace - History details

Mysuru Palace, built between 1897 and 1912 after a fire destroyed the old wooden palace, is the royal residence of the Wadiyar dynasty in central Mysuru. Designed by British architect Henry Irwin in Indo‑Saracenic style, it replaced earlier structures dating back to the 14th century. Its illuminated façade and Dussehra celebrations draw millions annually.
