Vimalagiri ( Immaculate Heart Of Mary ) Cathedral - History details

Kottayam’s Vimalagiri Cathedral, seat of the Diocese of Vijayapuram, was begun in 1956 and completed in 1964 in striking Gothic style. Its 172‑foot tower is among Kerala’s tallest church spires. Locally called Angathattu Palli, it hosts the annual feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary on 8 December, drawing pilgrims to its stained glass and vaulted interiors.
