This memorial marks the site where Tipu Sultan fell on 4 May 1799 defending Srirangapatna during the Fourth Anglo‑Mysore War. Located near the Water Gate inside the fort’s northern ramparts, the spot was marked by Colonel Wellesley with a stone tablet. The area remains historically significant, surrounded by 18th‑century battle structures. The place draws visitors especially during May commemorations.
