Part of the Oorakam–Arimbra (Mini Ooty) hill chain, Thiruvonamala rises ~2,000 ft with a granite‑built hilltop temple believed very old and celebrated on the Thiruvonam star day (Thulam). A 15–20 minute climb from Oorakam Poolapees leads to vistas towards Calicut Airport’s beacon point and Malappuram’s valleys; best at sunrise.
