Established in 1857 inside the Museum compound, Thiruvananthapuram Zoo is among India’s oldest. Spread over ~55 acres with lakes and lawns, it shifted to naturalistic enclosures and participates in conservation of species like the lion‑tailed macaque. The complex adjoins the Napier Museum and Sree Chitra Art Gallery.
