Sree Mallikarjuna Temple ( Kasaragod ) - History details

Among Kasaragod’s oldest Shiva shrines, the temple’s current form dates to the 17th century under the Ikkeri rulers; local lore says Arjuna adorned the idol. Relocated in 1977 due to railway works and walled by 1985, it stands near the taluk office with the Kumbala River to the south. Festivals include Vaarshika Maholsavam and cultural Yakshagana nights.
