An 11th‑century hill‑top shrine near Udupi, the temple enshrines Panchadurga (five laterite lingas) and an idol of Vanadurga. Set on the lateritic coastland between Udupi and Manipal, it overlooks greenery and backwaters. Interesting: a small Hanuman temple lies down the steps. Special dates: Navaratri and monthly Poornima sevas see larger crowds and extended darshan.
