Shaniwar Wada is a historic fortification in Pune, Maharashtra, India, built in 1732 by Peshwa Bajirao I. It was the seat of the Peshwas, who served as the prime ministers of the Maratha Empire, until 1818. The original 13-story palace was the center of Indian politics in the 18th century, though only the ruins of the building and the surrounding fortifications remain today.
