Kerala’s iconic Sagarakanyaka (Jalakanyaka) by sculptor Kanayi Kunhiraman was completed in 1992 at Shankumugham Beach, Thiruvananthapuram. Geography: beachfront landmark near the airport road. Interesting: adjudged the world’s largest merperson sculpture by Guinness World Records (Oct 2022)—about 87 ft long and 25 ft high. Special dates: golden‑hour photography at sunset.
