Ponkunnu (Pokkunnu) Hills near Kakkur and Cheekkilode rise ~1500 ft, offering sweeping views of the Arabian Sea and Western Ghats. A biodiversity hotspot with over 140 bird species, its trek covers laterite slopes and streams. Known as the ‘Meesapulimala of Kozhikode’, it is best visited August–February for cool, misty landscapes.
