Nedumkayam is a protected rainforest 15 km from Nilambur in Malappuram, forming part of the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve. Access requires forest permission. The area contains the world’s oldest teak plantation dating to the 1840s (British era), an old wooden rest house, an elephant‑taming camp, and rich fauna with over 200 bird species. Popular treks include the route to Mundakadav/Manakadavu waterfalls.
