Mishkal Mosque ( Kuttichira ) - History details

Built in the 14th century by Arab merchant‑shipowner Nakhooda Mishkal, this timber mosque in Kuttichira, Kozhikode blends Kerala vastu with Islamic traditions. Partly burnt during Afonso de Albuquerque’s 1510 attack, it was rebuilt in 1578 and now stands four‑tiered without domes or minarets. Set by the Kuttichira tank near the beach quarter.
