The Malik‑i‑Maidan (“Lord of the Battlefield”) is a 16th‑century bell‑metal cannon (length 4.45 m, ~55 tons) mounted on Sherza Burj of Vijayapura Fort. Cast in 1549 by Muhammad bin Husain Rumi for Ahmednagar and later with the Adil Shahis, it famously figured in the 1565 Battle of Talikota; the muzzle shows a lion swallowing an elephant.
