Loharu Fort - History details

In Loharu, Bhiwani district, this fort traces origins to a mud stronghold built by Thakur Arjan Singh in 1570; it later became the seat of the Nawabs of Loharu, linked to Mirza Ghalib. Rebuilt in 1803 by Ahmad Bakhsh Khan, the complex blends Rajput, Mughal and colonial elements. Declared a state‑protected monument (2021), conservation works are ongoing.
