Kottarakkulam Sree Mahaganapathy Temple - History details

Kottarakkulam Sree Mahaganapathy Temple is a prominent Ganesha shrine in central Kollam, situated near the Civil Station and Kottarakkulam lake. Though ancient, the temple was reconstructed to its present form in 1984–85, with Tamil Brahmin priests conducting Ashta Dravya Ganapathy Homam and other Vedic rites. The major festival is Vinayaka Chaturthi, and the prasadams include appam and modakam.
