Kettuvallam Bridge - History details

On Kochi’s Marine Drive promenade, the Houseboat‑shaped Kettuvallam Bridge celebrates Kerala’s coir‑tied riceboats. Marine Drive, reclaimed by GCDA in the 1980s, evolved into a 3‑km walkway with three themed spans—the Rainbow Bridge, Chinese Fishing Net Bridge, and this kettuvallam‑styled arch. It frames sunset views over Vembanad backwaters, with cruise jetties nearby connecting to Bolgatty, Jew Town, and the harbor channel.
