Kakkathuruthu Island - History details

Kakkathuruthu, the ‘Island of Crows,’ lies in Vembanad Lake near Ezhupunna in Alappuzha. Accessible only by boats, it preserves a rural setting of mangroves and paddy fields. In 2016, National Geographic ranked its sunset among the world’s best. Despite heavy monsoons, it remains stable compared to other sinking lake islets.
