On the Kaveri near Kushalnagar/Madikeri, Dubare Elephant Camp began as the Mysore Dasara elephant training base and today is run with naturalists by Jungle Lodges & Resorts. Visitors observe, feed and bathe elephants under supervision; rafting and coracle rides operate seasonally. Geography: Kodagu river island; best Oct–Mar; ~28–38 km from Madikeri by road.
