Chulliyar Dam - History details

Chulliyar Dam, part of the Gayathri irrigation scheme, began construction in 1961, saw partial commissioning in 1966, and was completed in 1970. The dam spans the Chulliyar River near Kollengode and Muthalamada, with a link canal to Meenkara Reservoir. Views extend to the Nelliyampathy foothills. Picnics and fishing peak from October to February.
