Bhadra Tiger Reserve - Muthodi Safari - History details

Declared a sanctuary in 1951 and Tiger Reserve in 1998, Bhadra spans ~500 sq km across Chikkamagaluru–Shivamogga. Muthodi, the southern range, offers jeep safaris through moist deciduous forests rich in tigers, leopards, elephants, gaur and 250+ bird species. Fed by Bhadra River and flanked by Baba Budangiri–Mullayanagiri hills, the reserve hosts the ancient Jagara Giant teak tree and offers dawn–dusk safari experiences.
