Bandipur Safari Point - History details

Bandipur National Park, established as a Tiger Reserve in 1973, is located in Chamarajanagar where the Deccan Plateau meets the Western Ghats. Its dry and moist deciduous forests support rich biodiversity, while the Kabini, Moyar, and Nugu rivers pass through its expanse. Safari points lie near Gundlupet, and the park’s highest elevation is Himavad Gopalaswamy Betta. The sanctuary is a major conservation zone and popular year‑round safari destination.
