Achyutaraya ( Ranganatha ) Temple, Hampi - History details

Set east of Matanga Hill near the Courtesans’ Street, the Achyutaraya Temple (also called Ranganatha Temple) reflects late‑Vijayanagara craft, raised under Achyuta Deva Raya (r. 1529–1542). Its twin enclosures, pillared corridors and ornate gopuras showcase yali motifs and Vaishnava iconography; today the shrine lies in evocative ruins within Hampi’s UNESCO core.
