On the banks of Renuka Lake near Nahan, this 1814 shrine honors Mata Renuka, mother of Parashurama. Legends tie the lake to Renuka’s immersion and the annual Renuka Ji Mela (around Prabodhini Ekadashi, Nov), when Parashurama’s palki symbolically reunites with his mother. The lake is Himachal’s largest natural lake.
