Sherabling Monastery, Bir - Baijnath - History details

Palpung Sherabling Monastery was founded in the early 1990s by the 12th Tai Situpa. Located in Bhattu near Bir, it is a major Karma Kagyu seat known for Tibetan architecture, vast prayer halls, a large Maitreya statue and a monastic university. Surrounded by pine forests, it is a major spiritual center.
