Sangeen Darwaza, Hari Parbat - History details

Sangeen Darwaza is the western stone gateway of the Mughal ramparts at Hari Parbat (Koh‑e‑Maran) in Srinagar, raised under Emperor Akbar in the late 16th century. It faces the Makdoom Sahib precinct and sits close to Badamwari, whose almond orchards blossom beautifully in spring. Along with Kathi Darwaza, it formed the principal access to the citadel overlooking the old city.
