This ship‑shaped sea fort at the creek mouth opposite Diu Fort originated as a control post—tradition links its early phase to Malik Aiyaz—and was strengthened by the Portuguese (notably in 1588 under Captain Aires Falcão). Geography: an isolated islet reached only by boat, with a tiny chapel (1638) and a light. Interesting fact: later used as a jail; today it’s illuminated at night and best viewed from boat rides.
