The area known as "Moonland" is a unique geological formation near the village of Lamayuru in Ladakh, approximately 112 km from Kargil. The bizarre, moon-like terrain is believed to be the remnant of a prehistoric lake that dried up over millions of years. The surreal, eroded clay hills shimmer under sunlight, intensifying the lunar illusion, and look especially magical on a full moon night.
