Mata Shyama Kali ( Tarna Devi ) Temple, Tarna - History details

Built by Raja Shyam Sen in the 17th century after victory over Suket’s Jeet Sen, the hilltop Shyama Kali shrine crowns Tarna Hill above Mandi. Raja Balbir Singh later embellished the sanctum with gold-and-glass work. Overlooking the Beas valley, it is reached by ~300 steps or a motor road. The temple sees peak footfall during Navratri and the Asuj fair each year.
