In Kangra’s Beas valley, the Masrur complex is an early 8th‑century monolithic group in Nagara style, aligned to the Dhauladhar and fronted by a reflecting tank. First documented in 1913 by Henry Shuttleworth and surveyed in 1915 by Hargreaves (ASI), it suffered heavy damage in the 1905 Kangra earthquake yet remains Himachal’s ‘Ellora of the Himalayas’.
