Mahe Lighthouse - History details
Standing at the Mayyazhi (Mahé) river mouth since 1893, this 13‑m white cylindrical tower (focal plane 30 m; Fl(2) W 10s; ~15 NM range) continues as an active aid under India’s DGLL. First a mast in 1885, it became a concrete tower with later halogen/solar upgrades. The site gives Arabian Sea sunsets and views of Franco‑Kerala Mahé—best from Oct–Mar.
