Indus Valley Civilization - History details
The ancient city of Rupnagar (formerly Ropar) in Punjab is a significant archaeological site of the Indus Valley Civilization (IVC). It holds the distinction of being the first Harappan site to be excavated in independent India. The site is situated on the southern bank of the Sutlej River.
