The Gyuto Monastery at Sidhbari, re‑established in India after 1959, is famed for tantric study (Gelug lineage) and as the Himachal residence of the 17th Karmapa, Ogyen Trinley Dorje. Founded originally in 1474 by Jetsun Kunga Dhondup in Tibet, the complex frames a grand Buddha hall against Dhauladhar vistas; public prayers are commonly held mid‑week.
