Gorkhey is a tranquil Himalayan village situated on the border between West Bengal and Sikkim, not exclusively within the Soreng district. As it is close to Sikkim's western border, it is part of the Darjeeling district in West Bengal. The Gorkhey Khola stream serves as the natural boundary between the two states.
