Replacing Achanakmar (which is in Chhattisgarh), this sanctuary flanks the Bhakra Dam’s Gobind Sagar in Bilaspur, Himachal. Declared in 1962/1974 notifications, it shelters rich birdlife and lakeside fauna and lies near the hill shrine of Naina Devi. Best visited post‑monsoon and winter for migratory species.
