Set at ~2,730 m in Budgam’s Pir Panjal bowl, Doodhpathri is famed for pine–fir meadows and the milky froth of the Shaliganga stream. Local lore links its name to 14th‑century saint Sheikh‑ul‑Aalam (Nund Rishi), whose ‘milk’ miracle turned to water for ablutions. Winters blanket the valley in snow; April–October brings daisies, buttercups and easy meadow walks to Tosa Maidan side valleys.
