Diu Lighthouse ( Inside Diu Fort ) - History details

Rising above Diu Fort’s eastern ramparts, the lighthouse marks the island’s highest point; the light’s beam reaches roughly 32 nautical miles, aiding ships at the Gulf of Khambhat entrance. The fort itself dates 1535–1541 under the Portuguese after Bahadur Shah’s alliance. Interesting fact: an earlier 1882 light served the headland; today’s tower and optics modernisations extend range and reliability.
