Dagshai Jail Museum - History details

Built in 1847 within the Dagshai Cantonment above Solan, this T‑shaped stone prison has 54 cells (16 for solitary confinement). It later became a museum (2011) documenting Irish mutineers of 1920, colonial prisoners and visits by Mahatma Gandhi. At ~1,855 m, it offers cantonment heritage walks; open most days with army stewardship.
