Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve, located in the Umaria district of Madhya Pradesh, is a wildlife sanctuary known for its high density of Bengal tigers. The reserve is situated between the Vindhyan and Satpura mountain ranges and encompasses a core area of 716 sq km. The park's name is derived from the ancient Bandhavgarh Fort, which, according to legend, was gifted by Lord Rama to his brother Lakshmana.
